The recognition of paleo lake accretion and erosional landforms on the east coast of Lago Musters, as well as, on the east coast of the adjacent lake Colhué Huapí, and far from lake environment, in the south of cerro Puricelli, at similar altimetric positions allowed genetically relate with a regional prior-body lake, named here Paleolago Sarmiento, which was generated by flooding of the preexisting depression of Bajo de Sarmiento, after the capture of the river Senguerr. A maximum level for Paleolago Sarmiento was estimated in 60 m above the current level of Lago Musters. The accretional landforms show a sub-parallel arrangement and declining altimetry, this is a testimony of the progressive but intermittent paleo lake level fall. Paleo littoral ridges were recognized on the eastern shores of Lago Musters, in the west of Bajo del Avestruz in a massive concentration and excellent state of preservation; in the Bahia Costa, northwest coast of this lake. On the eastern shores of Lago Colhué Huapí and further away from the lakes area, on the south slope of Cerro Puricelli. Paleo cliffs, also in higher positions, are relevant at the southern tip of the Peninsula Baya. The full extension of the Paleolago Sarmiento was estimated in 4300 km2. The concentration of paleo landforms on the eastern coast of both lakes are related to the wave dynamics, locally induced by dominant and intense paleo westerlies
