A dream within a dream: about the supposed ‘theory of the time of politics’;
UN SUEÑO DENTRO DE UN SUEÑO: CONSIDERACIONES EN TORNO DE LA SUPUESTA ‘TEORÍA DEL TIEMPO DE LA POLÍTICA’

In a recent article is posited the existence of a 'theory of the time of politics' created by researchers from Brazil and Argentina; such theory is presented there as a focus of great influence in the anthropological studies of policy developed in both countries during the last decades.  The authors of the paper denounce that the 'theory' confuses native categories and analytical principles, and that it creates an artificial opposition between a time where there would be politics and another where it would not exist at all. We intend to show that such theory does not exist, but that has been made up by the authors of the article; also, we will expose the mistakes in the authors’ reading of the literature about the ‘time of politics’ and the incorrect argumentative procedures underlying their invention. In addition, we will argue that what has been really influential in the last decades is the theoretical and methodological strategy, developed in Brazil, of the 'Anthropology of Politics'.

En un artículo reciente se postula la existencia de una ‘teoría del tiempo de la política’ creada por investigadores del Brasil y la Argentina, la cual sería un enfoque de gran influencia en los estudios antropológicos sobre política desarrollados durante las últimas décadas en ambos países. Los autores del artículo denuncian que ‘teoría’ comporta una confusión entre categorías nativas y principios analíticos, así como el establecimiento de una oposición artificial entre un tiempo donde habría político y otro en que no la habría. Nos proponemos mostrar que dicha teoría no existe sino que ha sido imaginada por los autores del artículo, develando los errores de lectura respecto de la literatura sobre el ‘tiempo de la política’ y los procedimientos argumentativos incorrectos en que se basa esa invención. Asimismo, argumentaremos que lo realmente influente en las décadas recientes ha sido la estrategia teórico-metodológica, desarrollada en el Brasil, de la ‘Antropología de la Política’.
