Professional intervention in neoliberal capitalism: revisiting the rights approach from critical theories of the South

En este artículo interesa reflexionar en torno a la participación social de los estudiantes universitarios de la Licenciatura en Trabajo Social. El objetivo de la investigación es mostrar las formas de participación en la esfera social, así como los espacios donde se manifiesta dicha participación. El supuesto del que se parte, es que el estudiante de Trabajo Social es activo en alguna forma de participación, por el carácter mismo de lo que será su desempeño profesional. Para ello el trabajo se enfoca en estudiantes de dicha Licenciatura en el Centro Universitario de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades de la Universidad de Guadalajara.

In this article, it is interesting to reflect on the social participation of universitystudents of the degree in Social Work. The objective of the research is to show theforms of participation in the social sphere, as well as the spaces where saidparticipation is manifested. The starting assumption is that the Social Work student isactive in some form of participation, due to the very nature of his professionalperformance. For this, the work focuses on students of said degree at the UniversityCenter of Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of Guadalajara.
